Most BMW K-Bike drive shafts end up with a bad U-joint due the
high mileage and age. Some Drive shaft splines never get regreased in time
and wear to a saw tooth shape. This is best repaired with a new spline collar insert (1986 on 20 Groove only). This spline collar will fit
on original Beemer and rebuilt pinion shafts.
If your rear drive is pre
1986 with a 16 tooth pinion and drive shaft spline, consider updating to a 20
tooth system. This will prevent the premature failure of your worn 16 groove
pinion while riding.

New
for K-Bikes
Drive shaft collars with integrated Grease reservoir for extended
service life. With this innovative design feature you don't have to worry
about a dry spline because Grease won't get lost into the hollow of the drive
shaft tube, (it can only escape into the direction of the spline and will
increase spline life!!!)
